The Flying V Under Construction

In 1923, the Cambria Coal Company started construction of a resort / retreat type facility for the town of Cambria and the surrounding area. It took 5 years of construction with more than 40 laborers to complete the facility in 1928. Hand cut sandstone, quarried 1 mile away by 10 to 12 stone masons was the reason for such long construction time.

When completed the facility was first known as Cambria Casino Park.
But, in that same year the coal mine was to close, as it was believed the coal vein was running out.
The new facility was leased by the Flying V Ranch which ran the operation as a cattle outfit,
as the mining company had numerable land holdings.

The Flying V After Completion

Throughout the years the landmark operated as a Bible Institute, Casino, Dude Ranch and Cattle Ranch.

Today this historic 10 guest-room facility still operates,
fulfilling many of the original plans and intentions the early builders had envisioned,
and is known as the Flying V Cambria Inn.

The Flying V Cambria Inn operates as an Official Bed and Breakfast, World-class Restaurant, Lounge/ Hunting Lodge
and for Weddings / Reunions / Parties/ Conventions -- A General Get-Together Facility.

The Flying V Cambria Inn is a true landmark of America and Wyoming;
located 8 miles North of Newcastle on scenic U.S Highway 85,
also designated as the CAN-AM Highway.
